Mike Fernandez Names 2026 OATCCC Coach of the Year

Earlier this week, the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (OATCCC) named Warrior Track & Field Coach, Mike "Fern" Fernandez the 2026 Boys Track & Field Coach of the Year for the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).

The award comes on the heels of the Warrior Boys claiming the team state title at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium this past weekend.

The state championship was the second consecutive for the program and this Coach of the Year recognition is the second consecutive for Coach Fern.

The Warrior boys totaled 57 points, thanks in large part to two individual state titles from senior Key'Shawn Garrett (100m & 200m), en route to their 4th boys title in program history and 5th overall.
