Each week throughout the football season, every Warrior home game has a different theme or celebration. The annual Military Appreciation Night game is usually the second home game of every year.

Every year we recognize former or active military personnel and families in the stands while also inviting several military families to be recognize and run across the field pre-game.

In addition to a few new changes, Warrior Athletics is excited to introduce the "Warrior Boot" trophy into the mix.

Working alongside Kevin McDonald of the Huber Heights Military & Veterans Commission, the Warrior Boot trophy was created as a way to commemorate the game each year while recognizing and celebrating the individuals in our community who have served and continue to sacrifice for this country.

The base of the trophy was created by Don Jacobs, an Army Vietnam Veteran who currently resides in Hamburg, NY. Don was drafted into the Army from 1971-1973 and was an E-5 Sgt. Artillery, Battery Armorer.

The boot itself was worn by Roy Spicer, another Vietnam veteran from 1967-1968. Roy was a resident of West Milton, Ohio - just a short drive up the road from Huber Heights. Roy was an Army E-5 telephone repairman who passed away in May of 2024 at the age of 79.

The trophy was assembled and detailed by McDonald, who was in the United States Navy and is currently a board member for the Huber Heights Military & Veterans Commission.

Come out and be a part of a special celebration while we cheer our Warriors to victory!
